Sunday Drive - Not Guilty

Sunday Drive - Not Guilty

Photo taken on my walk today. So incredibly beautiful!

Not Guilty

You have been declared "Not Guilty". Not just for now, but for all eternity.

Romans 8:1-3 (NLT)
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

This means that you are free! Does it mean you won't make mistakes? No. Does it mean you won't sin? No.

We might not even feel worthy of this freedom. However, we need to remember that this freedom is not based on your performance. It is based on who you are. If you have chosen to follow Christ and live your life for Him, then you are a child of God.

Your worth is not based on your performance. God already knows that we are imperfect. He doesn't expect us to never sin or never make mistakes.

He wants us to come to Him. Confess our sins and receive His forgiveness. It's really that simple. We ALL make mistakes and sin, no one is exempt.

1 John 1:9 (NLT)
9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

We are the apple of His eye. We are so very precious to God. He takes delight in us, even though He knows how imperfect we are.

Psalms 17:8 (NLT)
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings

Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)
17 For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

As much as we should not condemn and beat ourselves up, we need to steer clear of pride as well. Pride is the sin that led to Satan being removed from heaven. Thinking more highly of ourselves than we should is dangerous....

Remember you and I are human, we are all imperfect and being humbled helps us understand each other. It helps us have compassion. We all need Jesus as our savior, even though our sins may be different we all need the same thing. Jesus! So being humbled can actually be a blessing!

Psalms 36:7 (NLT)
7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

James 4:6-7 (NLT)
6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you

Thank You, Lord, for showing me that I am not guilty and that You love me regardless. Keep me from being prideful and draw me near to you. Thank You for Your unfailing love!

Blessings,
Lori
