Sunday Drive - Unfailing Love

It's a bit of a wintery wonderland here in PA today.

Unfailing Love

Isaiah 54:10 (NIV)
10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Have you ever hiked a mountain? The hike up can be quite exhausting. But the spectacular view is amazing! You can see for miles! I can't imagine a mountain being shaken, or a hill removed. They are enduring and seemingly immovable, solid like they've been there forever.

God says His love and peace for us is more everlasting than the mountains! Think about what this means.... His unfailing love. What does unfailing mean?

Here are some synonyms of unfailing:

• perfect
• reliable
• flawless
• infallible
• dependable
• faultless
• diligent
• inexhaustible

Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT)
3 Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

This crazy wonderful love He has for us never runs out, never even runs low, is always constant. He doesn't love us more on some days than other days. It doesn't depend on whether we perform well or fail miserably. Nothing can stop or change His unfailing love for us.

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As the scripture says, nothing can separate us from His unfailing love, well.... except us. We can pull away.

I chose to live close to His presence! To feel His unfailing love and peace surround and envelope me. He is always there, ready to shower us with His perfect unfailing love. You don't have to do anything special. Just receive it, accept it, embrace it. There's nothing like it.

7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.
