With life being exceptionally busy and now that we have grandbabies 😍, I decided to do just a little bit of Christmas. Now... my "little" might not be the same as your little. I just wanted to keep it simpler this year, at least for me...
I enjoy putting up our Christmas tree every year and I love the 'box' we built years ago to put it in. It's like a stand, but looks like a box. I have a tutorial on how to build it. How To Build A Christmas Tree Stand
This year when I pulled it out, the finish on it looked weird and streaky... I don't know what the deal was, so I decided to rip off the X's and try to stain it a darker color... well, that didn't turn out. It looked like something that would go in a log cabin. Not really my style...
So, I primed and painted it white and I LOVE it!! It just looks stunning!
I didn't put the big white fluffy ribbon on this year. I went a little simpler with some ribbon spirals and I purchased some thin white velvet ribbon and made long bows. I also got rid of most of the all glass balls, the last thing I wanted was the grandkids grabbing those off the tree. When those break they shatter everywhere! So, I painted some plastic ornaments I already had. I'm really happy with how it all turned out.
This year we have shelves in the living room. I haven't had shelves in a living room in over 15-20 years. I really don't even know how to decorate them! So, I just threw in some candles, greens and some ribbons and there you go!
Of course, I had to put up our antique manger. A few candles, greens and lights and we're all set! I did purchase those big bells on the trees. When I saw them at Home Goods, I knew I had to have them.
We can't forget the clay nativity! My little grandchildren love playing with it and the little train.
During the fall season, I had a bowl of little pumpkins the grandkids had so much fun throwing them around the living room. So, I thought I'd add some indoor snowballs around the jingle bell tree. I can't wait for a snowball fight!
I was struggling where to put the stockings.... That always seems to be a problem here. Well, I think I've found the perfect spot!
I put up these shelves and a new gallery wall and decided to hang the stockings there. I added a few greens and twinkle lights. I love it!
Lastly, I set up our glass nativity in the hallway.
And that's it folks! Just a little Christmas here and there. I pray you are enjoying this Christmas season!
Blessings,
Lori
