(sunrise from our vacation)
Are You Overwhelmed?
It's not hard to get overwhelmed by life. However, God does not get overwhelmed. He isn't surprised by our struggles. He's never caught off guard. He is able to handle all of our problems. It's His desire to help us through, whatever you are facing.
Life is tough sometimes... it can bring hardships and challenges you never expected.
Psalm 3:3 (AMP)
3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
He is our shield. He protects us. He lifts our head up.
In my mind, I picture a loving father kneeling down to a hurting child, with their head hanging down. The father lifts up the child's chin to look up into his loving eyes. The father's loving eyes say, "I love you. I got you. There's no need to worry."
Psalms 23:4 (NLT)
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
We need to remember that we aren't designed to try and handle everything on our own. We need to lean into Jesus. He is our strength. When everything is swirling around you, dive into the only one who can give you peace and stability! Spend time meditating on His Word. He is our strength when we are weak.
Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
There are times when it feels like our faith is being tested. One thing after another happens. Right when you feel like you are getting ready to stand up, you get knocked down again. Don't give up. Don't lose faith. We only need the faith of a small mustard seed. This season won't last forever...
Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
I love that verse in Philippians. We truly need to get ahold of this verse. Giving all of our cares and concerns to Him. Thank Him for what He has done. We all have something we can be thankful for, even in the midst of hardship. Then that last part, we will have peace as we LIVE in Christ Jesus. As we breath, eat, move each day in Christ. There is so much peace available to us!
In my life, there have been times when I casually held His hand, walking through life with no worries or concerns. Then have been times I've clung to His hand in desperation, not sure what's going to happen next.
He is a steady rock and can hold us. His grip on us is firm and solid. The storms of our life will not loosen his grip on us. Hold on!
Matthew 11:28 (NLT)
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are
weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
He will give you rest. This storm you are going through will not last forever. It is a season and seasons change. Trust in The Lord. You will get through this.
I pray this over you.
Numbers 6:24 (NIV)
24 ‘The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.’
Blessings!
