With all of the busyness of life, we can become a little dry. We need a good soaking of Jesus.
This summer has been a bit hotter and dryer than usual. So, the grass in some areas has become brown, dry and crispy. It always amazes me that when a good soaking rain comes through, the grass perks up. It becomes fuller, greener and starts to grow again.
Sometimes we can become dry and crispy like the grass, when we allow life to take the reigns of our day. It's not hard, we have jobs to go to, kids to take to school, groceries to get, houses to clean, etc., etc. etc....
But there's something about soaking in His presence. Like a good rain to restore your soul.
God knows what you need most... to be still in His presence and soak up His love. To take some deep breaths and focus on Him instead of all the things pulling at you right now.
Psalms 46:10-11 (NLT)
“Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”
11 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.
He is always here for us. He is always aware of our needs and ready to be our refuge.
Take time to dive into the Word of God. Meditate on the words. Soak in the grace and truth. Let them fill you with peace and draw you closer to Jesus.
Because the Word of God is alive and active. It can empower you with strength and life!
Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Then when you are refreshed like that good rain, full of life. Your outlook is brighter. Your hope is fuller and you're ready to take on the day. Bring Jesus with you. Include Him in your thoughts, your decisions, your plans. He will guide you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
We all need a good soaking.
Be blessed!
