Sunday Drive - Don't Listen To The Lies

Do you feel treasured? Well, you are! You were created by the God of all creation! Look around He has made some pretty amazing things, and none of it compares to you. You are wonderfully made.

The question is ... do you believe it?

Psalms 139:13-14 (NIV)
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

He created everything about you and He knows everything about you. In fact, you are a masterpiece!

However, hearing that doesn't necessarily make us believe it. We need to receive it and believe it! 

Romans 8:1-2 (NLT)
8 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

We need to believe that we are worthy of freedom, to receive that freedom, to live in that freedom! We hav been set free!

John 8:44 (NLT)
He (satan) was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Satan would love nothing more than to keep you in chains, believing lies that keep you from becoming all that God has for you. He loves to isolate you and keep you from hearing truth and believing truth. When you hear lies long enough, you start to believe that they are true.

We tell ourselves that we are not good enough, because we did this or that. The truth is that none of us are good enough. That's why Jesus had to die for our sin, only Jesus was perfect. When we have a relationship with Jesus, God sees Jesus in us, which covers our sin and because of that we are heirs of God. This is truth that breaks those chains!

YOU ARE AN HEIR OF CHRIST!!

Romans 8:17 (NLT)
17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

God created us wonderfully and has good plans for us and God doesn't lie. He has planned good things for you since the moment you were created.

We don't have to listen to or believe the lies. We need to listen to truth! God is not finished with us! He has good planned for us! I know I sound like a broken record, but we need to hear it and believe it!

Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Too many times we allow our minds go off in directions it shouldn't. We allow thoughts that don't build us up. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you when this happens. We need to redirect our thoughts. Train our minds to think truth. Repeat the truth so many times that it drowns out the lies. 

So many times, the Holy Spirit points this out to me... I catch myself thinking something that just isn't a good road to go down. I say, "Lori, stop this!" Then I purposefully think on something good, something excellent, something worthy of praise.

And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
