Sunday Drive - Do You Think God Doesn't Care?

In this crazy world, there are so many difficulties and struggles. You could be tempted to think that God doesn't care. Also, knowing that God could prevent the hardships that come your way, doesn't make it any easier.

But let me assure you, God CARES! God's "job" isn't to prevent tough times in your life. He's there to help you through them.

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

God completely equips you to handle whatever comes your way. Maybe the problem is you don't know how to use the equipment available to you.

The Word of God and His Spirit is always there to help you, guide you, comfort you. The Bible is filled with incredible wisdom and promises. There is encouragement to push you through, and forgiveness when we mess it all up.

We also need to remember that this earth is not our "home". There will be difficulties and many trials here. But we have been given power and strength through God, because He cares!

Isaiah 41:13 (NLT)
For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.

Isaiah 43:2-3 (NLT)
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Here you can see that The Lord cares. He is right beside you through every minute of your life. We need to use what He's provided (the equipment available to you). There needs to be an effort of your part, we have to DO something.

Jeremiah 29:12-14 (NIV)
12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.

We need to call on Him, draw close to Him, read His Word. He is there. He cares about everything in your life. 

Yes, this is a lot of scripture, but it's so important for you to know how much God cares for you!

Matthew 6: 25-34 (NIV)
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

There must me no doubt! In Him you will find strength, peace and rest.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
