Welcome to The Stonybrook House. Today, I'm going to share My 5 Fall Decor Favorites.
I'm participating in the annual Fall Home Tour. Marty from A Stroll Thru Life, is our hostess with the mostest! She gathers the info from over 25 bloggers and puts it all together into this tour for the week! You can find the full list of all that are participating at the end of this post. These beautiful fall homes will definitely inspire you!
If you're coming over from, Marty from A Stroll Thru Life, welcome! I'm so happy to have you here! Marty's home is incredible and beautiful. I love how classic and timeless her style is!
If you've been around here for any length of time, you're going to know that we always have some sort of demo going on. It's a bit of a construction zone...😜 But I am forging on!
My 5 fall decor favorites are must haves for me. It's just not fall without them.
My 1st fall decor favorite is color!
Pick a color that speaks fall to you. I like to change it up once in awhile.
I've done them all.... from orange, burgundy, rust, olive green, navy, and even white and this year I decided to go more neutral. It felt more cozy to me, less busy... because we are crazy busy in the middle of a complete kitchen remodel!
My 2nd fall decor favorite is pumpkins!
What is fall without pumpkins? I love them in odd shapes, different colors, different textures. They are so fun to play around with. I've painted them, covered them in fabric, and even made some before.
I had so much fun with this arrangement. Those pumpkins in the back aren't really even in the wood box... they're sitting on some plastic containers. 😆
There are a few pumpkins scattered all around the house.
My 3rd fall decor favorite is texture!
Texture may sound a bit weird, but to me it adds dimension and character to fall. I love the woven basket tray with the braided pumpkin and the chippy candle sticks.
Then on the couch, I just purchased these buttery soft faux leather pillow covers, and the woven black and white ones with tassels. I love the combinations of the two textures.
Did you stop by here during last year's Fall Tour? Take a good look at the background. Do you notice anything different? The wall dividing the kitchen from the living room is gone! Our new kitchen is happening!
Here's a before photo from last fall.
And this year...
And yes, we still have boxes of flooring in the living room and boxes of cabinets. This is real life, here. 😊
There aren't any cabinets up yet, but we're getting there. You can see what our plans are for this space at Our 1960's Kitchen Remodel Plans. I can't wait!!
Okay, back to texture. For me, I probably should have made it my #1 fall favorite, because it just speaks to me all over the house! I love the wheat grass and the texture on the vases with the smooth pumpkins.
Even the woven placemats and the frayed edge napkins on the table. Oh! Our Table!!
This is the table I found for free, sitting on the edge of a curb! You should see what it used to look like! Check it out, Orange Oak Table Makeover. Literally, it was such an ugly orange color! It looked worse than the chairs do! (Which need a makeover, too!)
My 4th fall decor favorite is scent!
I've got to have some sort of pumpkin candle! It just screams fall!
I also like to change out the bathroom soaps and room sprays with a fall pumpkiny scent.
My 5th fall decor favorite is the front porch!
It doesn't have to be a lot, even a simple fall wreath on the front door, or a couple of pumpkins on the porch. A few years back I made these pumpkins for my front porch. They are still in good shape and I wanted to see what they would look like. So cute! A little bright... I think I'd like to tone them down a bit.
I wish I had a covered porch, then I could've left them out. But I don't, so I picked up this massive beautiful mum at Sam's club and put this on the porch for this year.
I hope you enjoyed my 5 Fall Decor Favorites! Now, I'm going to go sit in my living room, prop my feet up, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the rest of today's fall tour homes.
Up next is, Yvonne from Stone Gable. If you've never visited her site, you've been missing out. She has a beautiful home that is incredible. I can't wait to see what she has done for fall this year. Don't forget, there is a whole week of fall gorgeousness coming with so much inspiration and ideas! Check back each day!
