Sunday Drive - Who Does God Say I am?

My husband, Mike, shared on this topic at our church's Men's meeting on Saturday. I asked him, if I could share some of it with you all. So some of this is Mike and some of it is me. 😊

This all started from something he listened to about how the most influential people are parents and teachers. (He has been a Sunday school teacher for over 25 years and still loves it!) This video was explaining how one comment can make the world of difference in someone's life. Hmmm... so true!

Mike compiled a list of over 25 attributes, that describe who we are in Christ. I'm going to list a few...

I am ....

Forgiven (Ephesians 1:7)
Justified and redeemed (Romans 3:24)
A king and priest (Revelations 1:16)
A friend (John 15:15)
The temple of the Holy spirit (1Corinthians 6:19)
Chosen, holy and blameless before God (Ephesians 1:4)
Bold and confident (Ephesians 3:12)
Complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10)

These are powerful statements of who we are in Christ. Our enemy is constantly trying to steal, kill and destroy us. We need to remind ourselves of who we are in Christ, to combat those damaging things the enemy tells us.

We are the only barrier. We are the ones that lose sight of who we are in Christ.

Romans 8:15 (NLT)
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

We are His children, we need to believe and trust in what He says about us!

It's hard sometimes... we've all been around people that complain and criticize. It's so easy to join in when others are doing it. It's easy to catch... like a cold. We don't want to be like that.

Let's lift people up! Let's be different! Let's make that one comment that can make a difference in someone's life.

When you understand who you are in God, this creates a place where life flows from. When we are full of God's life and presence we overflow into others and lift them up, so that they can know who they are in Christ as well.

I've tried a new thing lately. You should try it. I think of something that I love about a person. Then I tell them! I say, "I really love how kind you are." "I love how thoughtful you are." "I love your smile."

Remind yourself and others about who God says you are. You are loved.
