Welcome to The Stonybrook House 2021 Christmas Tour ~ A Meaningful Christmas.
This year I joined a group of talented bloggers to share our festive homes for Christmas. Marty from A Stroll Thru Life hosts this tour. Thank you, Marty, for all the hard work that goes into setting this up.
If you are coming from, Designing Vibes, a special Merry Christmas to you! I'm Lori! Hubby and I moved into this little 1960 brick fixer upper last year and we are in the process of totally transforming this little gem.
So, decorating for Christmas can be a little challenging when you're dealing with torn down walls and dust everywhere, but I'm not going to let that stop me from making this Christmas as meaningful as possible.
That's my focus this year, only putting up Christmas decor that is meaningful to us.
Starting with our Outdoor Nativity Scene. We built that nativity 5 years ago and love putting it out every year. Christ is the meaning of Christmas and we want to share that with our neighborhood.
If you're interested, I did create a Nativity Ebook, with templates and complete instructions on how to build one yourself.

I just love our Christmas tree. This is the first year we've decorated it. For the past couple of years we haven't put anything on it, except for words.
I have the words, love, joy, peace and believe on the tree. Those words are so meaningful to us.
We started this 'word' tradition a couple of years ago, and they will go on the tree every year from now on.
This little train has gone under our Christmas tree for probably 30 years. I don't even remember where it came from, but we have so many memories of the kiddos playing with it.
Hubby and I built that Christmas Tree Stand/Box. It was one of our best projects! I love putting our Christmas tree in it every year.
In this little brick house, we really have no where to hang Christmas stockings. So, this year I thought of bringing in a branch from the back yard, attaching it too the wall and adding greens. I put in little cup hooks to hang the stockings.
I just love how it turned out!
Nativity scenes have such special meaning to us.
This nativity has antique pieces that have been passed down from my grandmother.
We also have this adorable clay painted nativity that my children made when they were little.
Then we have this one my son and daughter in law gave us last year.
This one looks so special when the twinkle lights go on at night.
I am so happy with our meaningful Christmas this year.
The magic happens around 5pm, when all the twinkle lights go on....
That's our Meaningful Christmas!
Next on tour is Jo-Anna From A Pretty Life, she has such a fun and festive style! I'm going to be enjoying each home this week while I sip my coffee in the morning.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Julia! Merry Christmas!
DeleteWhat a beautiful tour! I love all of your Nativity scenes and all the pretty twinkle lights. The box you made for your Christmas tree is gorgeous too, I'd love to have one like that but we have a real tree and a box would making watering too difficult! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! We love our tree box too! Allergies and all... we're sticking with an artificial tree. Merry Christmas!
DeleteOh I so love your meaningful Christmas. Your tree is amazing and I love that you added the Words again this year. All the ornaments are so pretty and you definitely have the best way to add your ribbon that I have ever seen. Stunning. Your Nativities are so perfect and all with such meaning. Thanks so much for joining the tour this season, your new home is really coming together and it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marty! I appreciate your kind words! It's been a pleasure joining the tour this year. Merry Christmas!
DeleteWhat a lovely tour and I love your "meaningful Christmas" theme. Sometimes we get so caught up in the commercial aspect of the holiday that we forget the true meaning. I'm sure your family appreciates all your special holiday touches in your beautiful home! Great to tour with you!

DeleteLove your outdoor nativity scene! I first saw one of those a few years ago as we rode down the highway on Christmas night. It was on the side of the house and it was lit so that the shadow on the house took up the whole side of the house! It was glorious! God is good!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lynn! Moving into town last year, I feel like we are sharing our nativity with more people. I pray it reminds people of the true meaning of Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Like the precious rock nativity, the candles and greens in the window, the top of the entertainment unit - it was all so perfect and festive. I especially loved the idea for hanging your stockings. So clever! Enjoyed hopping with you this week. Hope your season is wonderful.
