Sunday Style - Shaken

This world seems to be shaking and shaking more and more, sending us all off kilter. 

Do you feel this way? Do you wonder if you can ever regain some sense of balance?

When I feel this way, the only way for me to change my perspective and steady myself on solid ground, is for me to look up to The One that cannot be shaken!

Hebrews 12:28(NLT)
28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a devouring fire.

The King and the kingdom of heaven cannot be shaken, ever! Thank You, Jesus!

So, no matter how bad things are or could get, I can count on Jesus to keep me steady. I can thank Him everyday for the life He has given me. 

Through all the shaking going on, we can be tempted to grumble and complain... but remember God understands. He isn't ignoring us. Our ways are not His ways.

Isaiah 55:8(NLT)
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

Exodus 24:17(NLT)
17 To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the Lord appeared at the summit like a consuming fire.

If we saw God in all His Glory, I don't think complaining would even cross our minds.... 

A consuming fire can be looked at a couple of ways. It can mean to use up, destroy or annihilate, or it can absorb the attention of someone or something. In the bible, fire could be used as a form of judgement or for purification or refining. 

Personally, when I think of seeing the Glory of God, I believe it will absorb all of my attention. Any other thought will disappear. It's so hard to even imagine.

Do we forget that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Do we think He is worried about the state of our world? No... We simply need to look to Him. Worship Him. Pray to Him for this world. He's got this.

John 14:3(NLT)
3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

Remember He's preparing a place for us. He's coming back! He has given us this promise. Let's drink in these promises til we shine so bright with God's glory in this dark world.
