Sunday Style - Reflecting His Image

Today I want to share on reflecting the image of God. We are created in God's image. Yet, do we reflect His character.

Genesis 1:27(NIV)
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

What does the character of God look like?

God is righteous and holy. Righteousness means to the quality of being morally right, free from guilt or sin.

Ephesians 4:23-24(NLT)
23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

God is full of love.

1 John 4:16(NLT)
16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

God is full of mercy and grace.

Exodus 34:6-7(NIV)
And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.

There are so many more characteristics of God. This is just a few that I am trying to reflect.

Do I reflect holiness, love, grace and mercy? Do people see Jesus in me? I hope so! 

Do people see Jesus in you?

I heard this weekend, "What do you say if someone says to you, 'I see Jesus in you.'" You say, 'Thank you!'

I found that so powerful! Who wouldn't want to hear that? If I see someone reflecting the character of Jesus, I want to tell them that I see Jesus in them!
