I want to thank Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for inviting me and organizing this week long tour of fall homes. If you're visiting from Kathy from Up To Date Interiors, Welcome!
Usually, I'm one of the last ones to have their fall decor up... only because I love summer and hate to see it leave.
What's crazy is we are in the middle of all kinds of construction in our little rancher. I learned you can decorate even in the midst of all the craziness! I still want our house to feel like a home.
If you look closely, you can see we removed a wall between the kitchen area and the dining room. I'll be taking down the rest of that wall and closet in the near future.
We are building our master bathroom right now. You can see whats happening in this post, Master Bath Progress. Because we are in the middle of construction, I want to keep decor to a minimum... Simple and minimal.
This year I was really drawn to soft green, rust and burgundy. I wanted to add just a touch of color, but still keep it soft and light.
Neutrals keep everything blended together. I picked up those beige pillow covers at Hobby Lobby and the soft green covers at IKEA.
Don't you love the cafe lights? We love them and keep them up year round.
Trying to keep the side tables simple and minimal, this is actually the most I've had on them in awhile... I redid these side tables a couple of years ago and they have held up so well. Would you believe they used to be dark brown? 😳
Moving to the front door decor. For years, I've done wreaths, but I found this basket a couple of years ago and I'm hooked. I love changing out the bouquets for each season. The colors in this arrangement are so beautiful. I will have a tutorial up soon.
When you come in the front door, this is what you will see. I was considering putting fall leaves in the milk can, but then I'd have to change it out after fall. I decided to make it even more simple, by adding faux pampas grass, that will look great year round.
Our dining room is hiding right behind our couch. We love how cozy this little brick house is. (Don't look too hard... you'll see where we closed up a window to put the tv up and if you're real good you can spot our bathroom vanity sitting in here til we can put it in the new master bath...😆)
Keeping decor simple and minimal is something I've been gravitating to more and more. It calms me when things are less cluttered.
Were you here when I built the skinny shiplap clock? It look perfect here in the living room.
I picked up these plate chargers a few years ago at the Dollar Tree. It's amazing what you can find there. I love the wood grain look of them. The rusty cloth napkins and black vase are from Hearth & Hand at Target.
On the other side table, I made this little dried flower block. A quick trip to a nearby field, filled it up with some grasses and wild flowers.
This was my first table arrangement in quite a long time... I'm really happy with how it came out. I used the same flowers and colors from the front door basket arrangement.
I also made the bead garland for a whopping $6. The natural wood beads and jute tassels... 💗
Do you love the cafe lights glowing in the reflection as much as I do?
These Bestå cabinets have gone through a couple of makeovers. They are looking their best here as a TV console.
Adding a few rusty colored eucalyptus stems to the glass jar was just enough.
The rusty ceramic jar, plants and woven pumpkins, were among the few things picked up at Target.
This year was different for me as far as fall decorating... I actually enjoyed decorating for fall (remember, I'm a summer, shorts & flip flops kinda gal). I think because I had to start early and organized my ideas so that I wasn't in a last minute rush. 😉
We also built the coffee table and ottomans! What can I say we love DIY!! 😍
Thank you for stopping by to see my simple and minimal fall home. Up next is Alicia from Thrifty & Chic, you're going to love her beautiful style!

DeleteGosh I really enjoyed looking at all of your simple fall decor. Love, love the color scheme mix- cleverly done with a mix of fall color warmth yet a splash of cool greens- very nice! And I just feel like I could knock on your door, come in for a visit, sit at the dining table, have a cup of hot tea and share testimonies of how God has blessed our lives and it would be so wonderful. If your intention is to exhibit what home feels like, you and your family have achieved it and it’s very inspiring and heartwarming.
