Hi Friends! I've been away on vacation and took a mini break. But I'm back!I was going to crop this photo, but I just wanted you to see the beautiful crepe myrtle! I just love the big pink blooms! Don't mind the rest of the mess in our backyard. So much to do, so little time! But let's get on with today's devotional.
I get so much inspiration from Sarah Young's devotions. She's written several devotionals. I just finished Jesus Today and have already started Jesus Lives.
A couple of weeks ago, I read one of her devotionals about casting all your cares on Jesus. He is always watching over us and knows all of our struggles, anxieties and cares.
In 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) it says, Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
He can handle ALL of your worries and every single thing that concerns you! He's a really good catcher too! Whatever you 'throw' at Him, He can handle. He's ready at all times, morning, noon and night. He's always ready to take them from you.
Lately, I've been working on building up my physical strength. I even got some heavier weights to help with that. But sometimes they are too heavy and I have to use the lighter ones. Did you realize that God can handle all of our burdens? They don't weigh Him down at all. He doesn't have to drop some of them because they are too heavy.
He loves to take them from us! I imagine the joy it brings Him when He sees our burden being lifted.
Psalms 68:19(NIV)
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who
daily bears our burdens.
What's also sooo awesome, is that when we throw our cares on Him, He doesn't miss a catch. He catches them all. No matter how many we 'throw' His way. They aren't too big, too small, too anything!
Matthew 11:28-30(NLT)
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you
who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take
my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at
heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to
bear, and the burden I give you is light.
Jesus doesn't want us bogged down with heavy cares, anxieties or burdens. We can let go of them, throw them at Jesus and He WILL catch them. He wants to give us rest. Trust Him, He won't let you down!
Blessings,
Lori
