The definition of persevering is continuing in a course of action despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
In Christ we have all that we need to persevere in this world, no matter what it may throw at us. Don't despair, we will overcome.
We tend to focus intently on our difficulties trying desperately to figure them out and find a solution. It might feel like life is throwing you some hard punches, and even look more hopeless in the future.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9(NLT)
8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.
But God.
You see with God, everything changes. He is our hope. He will always be there giving us strength to persevere.
We have a part to play also, we have to chose to change our focus from our problems to Him. Not that the difficulties will disappear, but He brings peace in the midst of it all.
Hebrews 12:2(NCV)
2 Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.
Keep persevering, keep hanging on, keep your eyes on Jesus. You will make it. You will see the light at the end of the tunnel. He loves you and nothing and no one can take that away from you.
Romans 8:38-39(NLT)
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hi Lori. As a recent subscriber and follower of your blog, this message could not be more timely. Not just for me but for my son who recently graduated from college, moved to a new place and began a new job with an engineering firm, only to reach out to me yesterday, because he is struggling so much with all of the new changes in his life. He relies on his faith and family to get him through, and as a praying mother, I so appreciate this message for him. It will refresh, encourage and empower him to push through his struggle to find where he should be. Thank you for being a vessel for God's Kingdom. Be blessed. Julie
