There is so much darkness in this world. It seems to be getting darker, you know what I mean?
But... we are never in total darkness. As long as Jesus lives in us, He is our light!
John 8:12(NLT)
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
It might not always be super bright, but when we are in darkness even a tiny bit of light can lead you.
We have nightlights in our hallway, incase we get up at night, and they are so dim but they can lead us down the hall. That's really nice at night when we are sleepy and don't want it all bright.
But there are times in my life where I wish God would shine the flood lights on a situation so I can clearly see the direction He wants me to go in. It would be nice to anticipate whats ahead, right?
Yet, God wants us to trust in Him following the light He provides. It will be enough, because He is always enough.
Proverbs 4:18(NLT)
The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,
which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.
If we live close to Him, our path will always be illuminated. That's the key, to stick close. Like if you're walking with someone on a dark path and they have the flashlight... you want to stay close so you can see where to step.
One day, when we are in heaven, there will never be darkness again. Christ will be our light forever!
Revelations 22:5(NLT)
And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.
