Hi friends! What a beautiful day! Today, I picked out this jumpsuit to wear to church.
It's incredibly comfortable. I remember when I bought it with my daughter. I wasn't too sure about it, but my daughter said it was super cute and that I had to get it! I'm so glad I did!
Today's devotion is about finding peace.
In this world of turmoil, I wish I could understand what is happening and find answers. Who do I believe and what is the truth? It's kind of frustrating...
But understanding will never bring me peace. We all seem to have this desire to figure things out, to try to understand. Thinking that this will help us gain control over our lives. But will it?
This world seems to have one problem after another with no end in site.... will we ever find peace? Will we ever understand?
Not from this world... our peace comes from trusting in The Lord of Lords and King of Kings... not our understanding.
Proverbs 3:5-6(NIV)Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
King Solomon was granted wisdom, like none other, even he found the search for understanding meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 1:12-14 (NLT) I, the Teacher, was king of Israel, and I lived in Jerusalem. 13 I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under heaven. I soon discovered that God has dealt a tragic existence to the human race. 14 I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless—like chasing the wind.
That's because he was searching for understanding, instead of searching for peace. How can you find peace? If you're looking for peace in this world, you will be disappointed. True peace is only found in Jesus.
Romans 5:1 (NLT)
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
So instead of spending so much time searching for understanding, I've started to search for Jesus more. Sometimes, just being thankful for the little things, reminds you of how wonderful Jesus is.
Phillipians 4:7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Peace isn't hidden from you. You don't have to achieve a certain status to receive it, there is no formula, or special thing you have to do. It's just there, because He gives it to us freely. He wants us to live in peace.
Actually, you are already enveloped in it, you just have to gain awareness of it, because Jesus is always with us. Realizing this is so amazing and before you know it, you are filled with peace!
2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NLT)
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
Superb. Todd needs to let you preach this one from behind the pulpit!
