Sunday Style Over 50 - Making Choices

Sunday Style Over 50 6.13.20

Happy Sunday! I am so thankful for the warmer weather!
If you are looking for a dress, one of the best places for me to find one is at Ross Dress For Less.  Now it's hit or miss there... but I was able to find this one last year.  It's just so comfortable.

I wanted to wear those sandals to church, but my back's been giving me a bit of a fit, so I chose some flatter ones.  I really don't like to wear heels much, but I love these classic sandals.

The other day, I read in my devotional something that struck me, and made me think.

It said about staying alert to the many choice points in your day.  Hmmm.... choice points.  I like that.  How often do I take notice of these choice points?

After I read that in the morning, that very afternoon... Hubby and I got into a little misunderstanding, if you know what I mean.  Just keeping it real here...  Anyway, I heard in my heart, "here's a choice point".  Oh! That hurt a little.  But it was true, I had a choice to make.  (Don't worry, we're good! 👍)

Did you realize you have the choice to have a good day or a bad one? We can choose to drag ourselves through the day. We can add every obstacle and problem to the load on our back and keep on trudging.

Or...

We can choose a better way. There is a path of peace.

Psalms 119:105 (NLT)
Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

That is one of my favorite verses.  It's kind of like finding yourself on a path, coming to a choice point and then choosing to trust in Him, even though it doesn't make any sense and you can't really see what's up ahead.

That the path you are on is a path of peace because we are trusting in Him.

Romans 15:13 (NLT)
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him.  Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We can lean on Jesus as much as we need.  We don't have to worry about whether it will be too much for Him to handle.  He can handle all of it.

Plus, let's not forget... He's always working on our behalf.  We might be going through something difficult, but God has this way of turning our struggles into blessings.  It's incredible how many times He's done that in my life.

Watch to see what He will do in your life.... It's quite amazing!

Blessings!

  1. So true about his guidance. Thank you for sharing those verses. I needed those as reminders. Dealing a foot that will not heal and still keeping me off my feet without walking on it now for 6months.

    1. You are so welcome! This is the reason I write these. If they can help and encourage one person, it's worth it! I'm so sorry about your foot. Dear Lord, please help my sister, I'm asking for Your healing power to touch her foot and give her strength!
