What are boundaries? The dictionary defines boundary as something that points out or shows a limit or end: a dividing line.
Boundaries provide freedom. Children actually crave boundaries. It provides an area of security and protection. They are free to explore and enjoy the area within their boundary. As we age our boundaries grow. When we have boundaries we know where that dividing line is. When we cross it there are usually consequences.
Yet, as adults we tend to tell God where that boundary line is. We want more control. There will always be areas in our life that we can control and areas that we can not.
He's given us a free will to live within the boundaries He's created for our lives.
God is in control of everything, which completely boggles my mind. He isn't overwhelmed, or tired, or confused by all that is going on in our world. And yet, we try to monitor His responsibilities, trying to tell Him what He's not doing or could do better... But these are things that are beyond our control, they aren't our responsibility.
As we chose to live within these boundaries, we have responsibilities. God will show you where and what those are. There is freedom in accepting the boundaries of our domain. He will provide everything you need within your boundary. Think about that for a minute.
God will take care of what He needs to. In my mind there is no doubt of that. I don't need to concern myself with God's area of domain.
This verse says so much...
Matthew 6:25-34 (NLT)
That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life - whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
Here is a picture from my garden.
We have this beautiful butterfly bush, and we get tons of butterflies throughout the summer. This year, I don't know where it came from but, a milkweed plant somehow grew up right next to this butterfly bush. Can you find it? It is getting ready to bloom. Did you know that monarch butterflies lay their eggs on milkweed and the baby caterpillars eat the milkweed leaves to grow?
God will always provide.
We need to trust The Lord... We need to lighten our load... We need to relax and laugh more. Let me say this again.... RELAX and LAUGH!
Don't you love to hear children laugh? They have no worries... they are care free. Wouldn't God love to hear us laugh and be light hearted? Trusting in Him and enjoying His Presence.
God's got this! He knows our past, our present and our future and He's not worried. God takes care of everything outside of our boundaries and provides everything we need within our boundaries.
Be Blessed!
