Hi there! I'm going to share with you my new IKEA Ritva Curtains. I think these curtains are awesome! 😍
But first let's take a trip down memory lane... the before and after is a must see!
This is sometime in 2013, before I rearranged the living room. You can see that we had the corner part of the sectional included. Some big changes came in 2014!! Keep scrolling!
Those curtains were awful! What was I thinking???A few months later and I rearranged the living room. The curtains still look terrible! Everything is so dark... kinda dreary and sad.
I am sooo glad we came out of the dark ages!
Here come some changes:
- April 2014 we installed beautiful faux 2" wood blinds. How To Install Faux Wood Blinds.
- August 2014 we painted new colors. How Paint Color Makes A Difference.
So... NOW... Let's look at what the new curtains do for the living room!
Omg! I love this. I thought that the living room looked fine without curtains, but now that they are up. What a difference! To me the room feels more 'put together' and finished. Even though I am far cry from finished. The list is long....
At one point, I ditched the brown curtains and put up these old black and white curtains. They were definitely an improvement.
But look at those curtains!!! The Ritva curtains are unmistakably better!! What a drastic change. They look perfect!
You can see a sneak peek of the table and chairs I refinished, in September 2014. That made such a difference as well.
IKEA Ritva curtains have a nice linen look to them. The quality of the fabric is sturdy and hangs beautifully. I feel they can go in any and every room.
IKEA Ritva curtains cost about $29.99 a pair. That is a bargain! Not just one panel, but for 2 panels. I love how long they are, they will fit just about any window.
These Ritva curtains are 98 inches long and look so much better hung up higher on the wall. We raised all of the curtain rods about 6 inches.
Another feature of these fantastic Ritva curtains is that they come ready to hang several ways. They can be hung like tab curtains, or you can add curtain hooks to them, or clip them with rings.
I chose to do something completely different and pinch pleated them. You can see the step by step tutorial here, Perfect Pinch Pleat Curtains. Then I added curtain hooks and hung them on wood rings.
They look so lovely.
I am so pleased with these curtains.
Fast forward to 2020... I've used them at our new Little Brick House but in a different way. You can see them here, Casual vs Formal Curtains.
Blessings,
Lori
