It felt like the wood box I made for the console was lacking a bit.... so, I thought some little letter blocks spelling out 'gather' would be just right. They were super easy to make.
I used a piece of 2x4 scrap. It doesn't look like much yet, but just wait.
The TV box is about 4" tall, so I figured a 3"x3" block would look best.
First, I cut the 2x4 into 3"pieces. Then, because a 2x4 is actually a 1½ x 3½, I needed to trim off ½" to make it 3" square.
I love the contrast of the blocks against the wood of the TV box.
This method of tracing the letters onto wood is something I've done over and over. It's easy and it works!
Just print up your letters on the computer. Cut them out and line up, centering them on the blocks.
The tracing part is easy! Go over the back of the letter with white chalk. Tape it to the wood block, centering it. Then, trace over the letter with a ballpoint pen. The letter will transfer onto the wood.
Lastly, the letters just need to be painted. When I did these letters, I was still painting them with a super tiny paint brush. Which would require 3 coats.
Today, I would use a paint pen. They are extremely easy to work with and I almost always only have to do one coat.
Aren't they cute? Super easy! Super quick!!
Blessings!!
