So, here’s a fun little project you might want to do on one of these chilly winter days. They were so much fun to make! Plus they’re easy and quick!
There are so many cute things to be made with bamboo placemats! Here are a couple of other things I’ve made with them.
Bamboo Picture Frame Mat
Mini Planter Box
This is how I made snowflakes out of a bamboo placemat. I picked up my placemat at the dollar store. You can make several projects out of one placemat. All you have to do is unravel the end of the placemat and pull the slats apart.
They are easy to snip into smaller pieces. I used wire snips and regular scissors to cut them.
The designs can be anything you want! There are so many ideas on the internet for inspiration. Here’s the first one I did.
Then once you have your design, all you have to do is glue it together. I first glued the 3 longest slats to form the base of the snowflake. Then you can add the other pieces. I just used my handy dandy glue gun.
Here's a tip...I found it easier to first glue the little “arrows” together, before I put them on the snowflake.
I wanted to spray paint them, but the weather wasn’t cooperating. I had some “chalky” paint left over from the Rustic Wooden Lanterns Hubby and I created, so I used that instead.
They dried super quick! Here’s a better picture of all the designs I created.
Cute right?? The possibilities are endless! Here they are all tucked in the wooden box I made at Christmas time.
I love this! I can’t wait for spring! This box will make it so easy to decorate for each season! I might go a bit darker on the stain… I don’t know, we’ll see.
Wouldn’t these be adorable in a garland? I might just have to make some more! Grab your supplies, let’s get started!
ohhh, clever!!!
