Guess what? Today's outfit has nothing new in it! :)
You know what's funny.... I wore almost this same outfit back in February's Fashion Over 40. You can check that out HERE. The funny part is that I even wore my hair the same way. Weird. I don't think I've worn these boots for y'all yet. I've worn the cardigan, in fact when my daughter was here she even borrowed it. So, I guess mom has a few cute things in her closet. ;) And, yes, I'm wearing 3 necklaces. They just looked fun together.
We had a missionary on Sunday. His family is working mainly in Cuba teaching nationals to become pastors and missionaries. What got me on the "spoiled" kick, was that he was saying how we in America don't really understand the difficulties people of third world countries face. I have to agree. He said that even if you think you have it tough, you still live in luxury in comparison. wow.
This will sound strange, but they don't use credit cards or debit cards. They don't even have them. I mean, I knew that, but I never really thought about it. We practically live cash free. I hardly ever carry any cash. And cars... most of them don't have cars, and if they do, they aren't the nice heat seated cars we have. Like I said, I knew it, but to really think about not having just those two things, would be difficult for us in America.
But one thing they do have a lot of is .... persecution, suffering. That is something they aren't in short supply of. I can't even begin to understand the difficulties they deal with. I want to, but we've been conditioned to live in our comfy cozy homes, with beautiful hard wood floors and soft warm beds. What a contrast. Lord, help me! I don't want to be spoiled like this.
Let's remember what the gospel is all about. To lay down your own life for the sake of others. It's about loving Him and loving others. Not putting yourself first, others first. It's about being an example of Christ's love. At this time of year, we have even more opportunities to be giving, generous, and loving.
