Yeah, I'm a little behind... Usually this post goes out on Monday. We had a little getaway. It was Family Fall Weekend down at my daughter's college, Liberty University. She's graduating in December and we wanted to go down for the last one... :)
It was so good to see her and her boyfriend! And we had a great weekend! Here's a few pics!
Now whenever I ask her boyfriend to take pictures, he goes all snap happy and just keeps snapping and snapping away! This just cracks me up!
Just a few more... No, there really isn't any fashion to report here. Not this week.... My daughter has great fashion sense, she always looks adorable! (maybe she got a little of it from me ;)) But guess what? I found some super cute brown boots!
After he took a few good ones, he just kept snapping away :) See what I mean?
All in good fun!!
On Sunday, we all went to church together. I really like the church they are attending. It was a great message on being a "Healthy Christian".
I thought this was such a great statement. He said, "That being a casual Christian leads to complacency, but an intentional Christian will lead to holiness and health". He went on to explain how we don't accidentally become healthy. We have to pursue it and work at it. It's the same spiritually.
It's hard to give up things you "love" even when you know they aren't good for you. But nothing will happen unless we change, do something intentional.
1 Corninthians 16: 13-14 (NLT)
13 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous.[c] Be strong. 14 And do everything with love.
Be vigilant and watchful. Be careful how you live.
1 Timothy 4:16 (NLT)
16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.
Stand firm in your faith and stay true to the gospel.
And the key is to do 'everything in love'. He said, "That if the love of God doesn't compel you to live an intentional Christian life, then you will develop a casual faith which will lead you to complacency and dysfunction." So true.
Healthy Christianity starts with Christ. If we want a spiritual change to occur, then we need to commit to live intentionally, to put Christ first and foremost. We need mentors in our life to hold us accountable and to be able to speak into our lives.
This was a good message, its really basic and simple but so true and valuable. It's the foundation of a healthy walk with the Lord. Be intentional today!
Blessings,
