Happy Mother's Day
Yeah, I know it was yesterday...
This was a different Mother's Day for me.
But first...
What do you think about this shirt?
I just picked it up at JCP... Lovin the yellow!
I had one of those handy dandy coupons, $10 off of $10! So, I picked this up and another shirt all for $10.96! Oh Yeah!!
I wore a yellow cami under it. (It's a little sheer)
White capris are forever old but in great shape and some orange flats I picked up ages ago at Ross.
A fun springy outfit!
Anyway....
This was the first time neither one of my kiddos were home.... I wasn't sad or anything it's just different having grown children that are both living out of state. I can't really say anything... I moved 3000 miles away from my mom 20+years ago.
I was actually missing my mom a bit more this year.
She went to be with The Lord just about 7 years ago.
But Hubs and I had a great day!
Started off by going to church, had lunch with a dear couple, that are so special to us!
We got to Google "hangout" with our son for 3 hours! Yes, we did! And later that evening I spent some time in another "hangout" with my daughter.
Simply a wonderful day!
Pastor Jeff spoke on the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31.
Who can find a virtuous wife?
Her worth is far above rubies.
Proverbs 31:10 (NKJV)
She is trustworthy, she does good when no one else is around. She works hard, uses her time well. She is concerned with the household finances, and concerned about her own health; physically and spiritually.
She takes pride in a job well done and in her family. She is honest and has integrity. Her desire is to instill those things into her children.
She is a watchman for her home, praying for her family and gives a good example to lead her family to The Lord.
She is concerned with the more important things in life.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:28-29 (NIV)
Wow! What an honor!
It may seem a bit unattainable... Like you have to be some sort of super woman. But you know, I think it depends on where your desire is. God knows our heart, and He certainly doesn't expect us to be perfect. I believe He just wants us to strive for excellence!
I pray The Lord helps me to be that kind of woman, don't you?
Pastor Jeff also mentioned this quote.
"No man is poor who has a godly mother"- Abraham Lincoln
The only way to become a virtuous woman is to put The Lord God Almighty first in your life. He is the one who helps us be all that we can be!
Be Blessed!
