What a wonderful day yesterday was.
Even if it wasn't sunny and bright.
The weather is getting better...
(Although, I heard we are supposed to get snow again tomorrow?)
I'm actually going to ignore that weather report and live in denial because it's spring!
I have on Merona dress pants from Target and
a button up from JCPennys.
The cardigan and shoes were from Ross Dress For Less.
Nothing is new.... I've had these items in my closet for years, and I know that the button up is too big for me but I love the shirt, it is so comfortable.
I'm still working with these bangs... Not sure if I'm going to keep them this long or trim them. I felt like wearing a pony tail, even though it didn't want to cooperate, I finally managed it into submission. :P
Pink lips and some simple jewelry and we were on our way.
We had a guest speaker at church.
They have been to our church several times and they are a joy every time.
He spoke on how we all experience discouragement in this life. Isn't that so true. Some have it tougher than others. The hard part can be in moving past it, moving forward. But if we don't do something, we can stay stuck there.
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise Him again-my Savior and my God!
Psalms 43:5 (NLT)
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
1 Samuel 30:6 (KJV)
Encouraging yourself in the Lord...
That's the key!
The Lord is faithful and true and good!
Remember the character of God.
Nothing is impossible with Him.
Focus on what He's done in the past.
Remind yourself of God's provision, or ways He's given your direction.
How has God protected you or used you to help someone.
Also focus on His promises.
God's way is perfect. All the Lord's promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection. Psalms 18:30 (NLT)
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John 10:9-11(NKJ)
It's not always easy, but we need to fight through it.
The Lord is always there, we are never alone.
Count your blessings, name them one by one...
(My grandma used to sing that song to me all the time.)
Then soon you will see God's hand at work in your heart.
Blessings,
