Happy Birthday to me!
Wow! Another year has flown by. Is it possible that I'm 48??? No, well, yes.... I really don't feel like it. (Although, my body tells me otherwise at times)
My great aunt used to always say that age was between the ears!
I believe there is some truth to that.
My birthday was great this year. Family came over for a little celebration.
We have an unusual way of singing "Happy Birthday"....
This totally cracks me up!!
I don't even remember when we started this tradition... It's supposed to be as loud and off key as you can possibly sing. I remember when we had our dog, she used to LOVE to "sing" with us too! So much fun!!
Every year that passes, I'm so thankful for all the blessings in my life.
My husband, my children, my family and friends.
The older I get the more important they become to me. Life is so short. I've become a bit nostalgic lately... Going through my mother's and my grandmother's things. I miss them. Maybe I am showing my age a bit...
I hope not! I plan on running my first 5k this year. I feel great physically. Probably the best in my life. In the last year eating healthy has been very important to me. Although, I'm sure I've gained 5 lbs this weekend from "birthday" celebration junk food! Ugh!
Unfortunately, this weekend hubs was VERY sick... He even took off work. (Which never happens...) Poor guy, I felt so bad for him. But it was still an awesome birthday! My daughter came home from college for fall break. It's always sooo good to see her! In this pic she's getting ready to head back down to Virginia and I'm in my comfys ready to hit the couch for some football!!
Plus, I got to FaceTime my son, who lives in Illinois.
It was so wonderful to hear his voice and see him! I love technology! :)
But everyday I thank the Lord, for this man who has been by my side for the last 25+ years, through all of life's ups and downs.
What more could I wish for? I have my family, I'm healthy, I have never worried about putting food on the table. I have a roof over my head, my husband has a good job. I live in a free country, where I as a woman have rights and freedoms. Best of all, I am blessed to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. It's been a wonderful year and I will trust the Lord for the next, whatever may come, I am never alone.
Blessings,
